Big money and prestigious events all wrapped in a few weeks known as the ‘Month of Money’ got underway on Wednesday for Craig Dollansky and the rest of the World of Outlaws at Limaland Motorsports Park for the annual Brad Doty Classic.
Making his sixth start at the high-banked 1/4-mile, Dollansky piloted the Big Game Treestands #7 to the 3rd fastest time in qualifying among the 39 cars signed into the pit area. Heat race action saw ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ start fourth in the third heat and race past Tim Shaffer to finish 3rd. The Karavan Trailers Maxim just missed making the dash since the 8-lap event is composed of the top two from each heat and the top two qualifiers that didn’t finish first or second in their heat.
In the 40-lap Brad Doty Classic A-Main, Dollansky started inside of row six. When the green flag dropped the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 lost one position and ran twelfth when the first caution came on lap 5. The Elk River, Minnesota native would slip back a couple spots until the caution flag flew again on lap 26. With only 14 laps remaining, Dollansky was able to gain a couple spots back and finish just outside the top ten in 12th position.
The Big Game Treestands #7 team now heads to Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway for two days of racing beginning on Friday and culminating on Saturday with the prestigious $50,000-to-win King’s Royal.
