The first ever spring show at Clay County Fair Speedway awaited the Big Game Treestands #7 team on Friday as CDR Promotions once again brought the World of Outlaws to Spencer, Iowa.
With not a cloud in the sky and hot June weather 29 cars signed in for competition. With the sun beating down drying out the 3/8-mile track and a late draw for qualifying, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ put down a solid lap in qualifying at 9th fastest to make the 12-car inversion. Starting outside front row of heat #3, Dollansky ran second but dropped off the pace in the early going.
After changing the powerplant under the hood and winning the B-Main to transfer into the A-Main, the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim started outside row six for the main event. As action began, Dollansky had a great start but a red before the lap was complete nullified the start. Running fourteenth in the early stages of the feature and primarily working the highside, the MobileStar #7 ran thirteenth before a caution at the halfway point. The remainder of the race would stay green as Dollansky struggled to advance and finished 13th.
The Big Game Treestands #7 team now heads to southern Iowa where the World of Outlaws make their second appearance of the season at Knoxville Raceway tonight.
