A trip to the heart of NASCAR territory in Charlotte, North Carolina was the next event for Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team in the Circle K NOS Energy Drink Outlaw Showdown. The event was originally scheduled for live coverage Friday on SPEED channel but thunderstorms would again hamper the World of Outlaws and the race was postponed to the following night.
With so much attention all week on the pavement track across the road, the Outlaws were ready to shine in the spotlight on Saturday night at The Dirt Track at Charlotte as 28 sprinters signed into the pit area. In qualifying, Dollansky piloted the Karavan Trailers Maxim to the 14th fastest time around the 4/10-mile oval at 12.737 seconds. Missing the heat inversion by just two would mire Dollansky to fifth for the start of the second heat where he would hold position in the 8-lap event to transfer into the feature.
In the 30-lap A-Main event, the Eaton's Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter lined up inside row eight on the starting grid. When the green flag waved, Matt Linder got upside down and the #7 was in the wrong place at the wrong time and sustained some damage. The Big Game Treestands #7 team hustled to make repairs and restarted at the tail of the field. The nickname of 'The Crowd Pleaser' fit the script for the remainder of the feature as Dollansky raced through the field all the way up to 6th before the checkered flag flew and also earned the KSE Hard Charger Award.
Racing resumes on Memorial Day for the Big Game Treestands #7 team as they head back to I-96 Speedway in Michigan for the event that was rained out on May 21st.
