Another stop at Williams Grove Speedway was in store for Craig Dollansky and the rest of the World of Outlaws as they took to the half-mile for the opening night of the Summer Nationals on Friday.
With 44 sprinters signed into the track located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania the Big Game Treestands #7 team was a touch off in qualifying and registered the 22nd fastest time overall. Starting from sixth in the second heat race, Dollansky was in the final transfer position until a late race caution when he got a bad restart and fell back to 7th at the finish. Forced to run the B-Main, the Karavan Trailers Maxim was running fourth until the #7 hooked the cushion and spun. Dollansky was able to restart but would finish 13th and have to use a provisional to start the main event.
When the field rolled off for the 25-lap A-Main, the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 started in row thirteen and worked past three cars by a lap 3 caution. Three more stoppages by lap 16 would see ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ continue to make his way to the front as he ran fourteenth. Just as Dollansky was about to salvage a decent finish, Doug Esh got upside down on the restart with nine laps to go and collected four other cars, including Dollansky. The Big Game Treestands #7 team made repairs in time to rejoin the field and move up to 18th before the checkers flew.
Racing resumes on Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway for the finale of the Summer Nationals.
