Racing in the 'Badger State' at Cedar Lake Speedway was the next event for the Big Game Treestands #7 team, a 3/8-mile oval Dollansky has two victories, including the most recent event last year on July 10th, and 5 top-ten finishes in 13 appearances.
As 27 competitors signed into the high-banked track located outside of New Richmond, Wisconsin, the Karavan Trailers Maxim was loose in qualifying and just missed the heat race inversion by a mere .006 seconds. In the first heat race, the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 started fifth and drifted high in the first corner and lost three positions. Dollansky would take 7th and converge on Lucas Wolfe for the transfer position but ran out of circuits in the 10-lap event. Forced to run the B-Main, Dollansky started second and finished 2nd to transfer into the main event.
With the non-dash cars lined up according to qualifying times, the Big Game Treestands #7 lined up inside row seven for the 35-lap A-Main. A great start would see ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ crack the top-ten by a lap 2 caution and gain another spot by lap 6. Racing resumed until a caution on lap 21 at which point Dollansky ran seventh. Unfortunately, when the green replaced the yellow Dollansky caught a slick spot in turn two and looped the #7. The Elk River, Minnesota native was able to restart and charge back to the front of the pack until lap 26 when the 3/8-mile started to take rubber and stopped Dollansky’s momentum just outside the top-ten in 11th position.
The Big Game Treestands #7 team will put Friday in the past and move on as they wrap up 2011 action in Wisconsin on Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway.
