Dollansky's time was the 6th quickest of the night. Two heat races were complete and the third was in staging when the skys opened bring the evenings event to an abrupt halt. Officials at the track were forced to call another night of World of Outlaws action this season due to rain.

Knoxville Make-Up
posted May 4th, 2008, 4:48 pm by Julie D. |
After last weekend's rain cancellation from the Knoxville Raceway, the Advanced Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Series got to return to make-up their missed show.
Forty-five 410 sprints entered competition on Saturday night at the historic half-mile. The 16th car to hit the track for qualifying, the Woodward #2 driven by Craig Dollansky posted the 2nd quickest lap, but tied an earlier qualifying Steve Kinser to place himself third. At the conclusion of qualifying Dollansky was 5th quickest of the nearly 50 competitors.
In the 1st heat race of the night, Dollansky would start from the third position behind a front row of Lucas Wolfe and Daryn Pittman and next to Donny Schatz to his outside. Slipping at the start, Dollansky lost 3 positions and would need to work his way forward from the 6th spot. In 8 laps the Auto Value / Arnold Motor Supply sponsored Maxim moved back into the 3rd position behind a battle for the win between Schatz and Pittman at the line.
Making the dash on time 'The Crowd Pleaser' made up some ground moving quickly into the 6th spot from the start, finishing there and gaining 4 starting positions for the night's A-main event.
It took 3 starts to get the 25 lap feature race underway, Brian Brown stopped in turn 1 on the first attempt, and a Tim Schaffer flip halted the second. "I tried to sweep around the outside on the third start," said Dollansky, "unfortunately there was no opening and I had to change my plan." Falling back to seventh, Dollansky passed Daryn Pittman for the sixth spot finishing there in the 25 lap race. "I fought my car a little here tonight," said the driver, "we could have been better, but we'll get it sorted out." Breaking their string of top 5 finishes the team crossed the finish line sixth.
Next weekend they will travel to Granite City, Illinois and Paducah, Kentucky for competition with the 'World of Outlaws.'
